Art In Your Eyes was born from a simple, powerful belief: That art has the ability to bring people together—no matter their background, their journey, or where life has placed them. It began with the hope of building a genuine community, one where artists lift one another up, stand side by side, and feel truly seen.
Every artist who joined this event was encouraged not just to show their work, but to stand proudly behind it—to trust in their voice, their vision, and their worth.
Together, some shared their worries, their nerves, their personal challenges, and the fears that often come with stepping into the public eye. In these conversations, they learned they were not alone. They discovered they were just as deserving, just as talented, and just as extraordinary as the artist beside them.
This event has never been about competition or comparison. It isn’t about who has sold the most pieces or who has spent decades mastering their craft. Instead, it celebrates the collective strength of artists coming together—what their unity can create, and what they can give back to the community that surrounds them.
Each participating artist brings something remarkable—something that can’t be measured on a CV. Their hidden qualities, their quiet brilliance, their resilience, their stories—all of it shines within this beautiful Grade II listed building in the heart of Leeds. It is more than an exhibition; it is a testament to humanity, creativity, and the courage to share one's soul with others.
As a nonprofit group, our intentions are heartfelt and simple. This year, we hope to donate any surplus funds to the Kirkstall Art Trail, and in the years to come, our dream is to support a range of local, artdriven community organisations—continuing the ripple of kindness, opportunity, and connection that this event was created to spark.
